Being the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands, Barbados enjoys a hot tropical climate with two distinct seasons. This includes the wet season and dry season.
If you are holidaying here from May to December then this is known as the wet season. Expect frequent rain with average temperatures between 24°C-29°C. However don’t be put off due to the rain as Barbados still has plenty to offer. The sea temperature is gorgeous during this season as it can get to bath like temperatures.
Hurricane activity is likely during August and September but only occur an average of once every 25 years. Nevertheless we recommend you check local weather and news service before you travel. If you do travel during wet season you can enjoy plenty of stress free days on the beach whilst taking advantage of bargain prices.
The driest period occurs between February and April where temperatures sit just below 30°C. Expect clear skies and low rainfall, perfect for swimming, snorkelling, windsurfing and all other water based activities. When travelling during dry season you can enjoy up to 9 hours of sunshine a day, ideal for working on that gorgeous holiday tan.
